- ancient (AYN-shuhnt) —
- very old or belonging to a time long ago
- evidence (EV-uh-duhnss) —
- information and facts that help prove something or make you believe that something is true
- exhibit (eg-ZIB-it) —
- a public display of works of art, historical objects, etc.
- forensic (FUH-ren-sik) —
- using science to help investigate or solve crimes; a forensic investigation uses fingerprints, blood tests, handwriting analysis, etc.
- fossil (FOSS-uhl) —
- the remains or traces of an animal or a plant from millions of years ago, preserved as rock
- fragile (FRAJ-il) —
- delicate or easily broken
- mural (MYU-ruhl) —
- a painting on a wall
- paleontology (pale-ee-uhn-TOL-uh-jee) —
- the science that deals with fossils and other ancient life-forms; someone who studies paleontology is called a paleontologist.
- prehistoric (pree-hi-STOR-ik) —
- belonging to a time before history was recorded in written form
- suspect (SUHSS-peckt) —
- someone thought to be responsible for a crime
