Jig Infinity Scarf & Headband

This is a fun beginner’s pattern for learning the Woven stitch, and it should be much easier than doing a jig! Don’t want an infinity scarf? Then don’t connect the ends. This scarf and matching headband are reversible no matter what you decide.

Materials

K/1012 (6.5mm) crochet hook

3 skeins Bulky (no. 5) weight yarn (project shown uses Berroco Weekend Chunky [119 yds/109m skein per 3.5 oz/100g] in color no. 6967 Lilac)

Finished Dimensions

Scarf: 612" × 56" (16.5cm × 142.2cm) before connecting ends

Headband: 434" × 22" (12.1cm × 55.9cm) before connecting ends

Pattern Notes

Where stitch numbers or repeats are different, the headband numbers will appear first, and the scarf numbers will appear second in parentheses.

HEADBAND AND SCARF

Ch 13 (17).

Row 1 (RS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn, (12 [16] sc).

Row 2 (WS): Ch 2. Sk 1st sc, work a Woven st in the next sc, [sk next sc, Woven st in next sc] across. Turn, (6 [8] Woven sts).

Row 3: Ch 2. Woven st in the sp between the 1st and 2nd Woven st. Woven st in the sp between each Woven st across, ending with a Woven st in turning ch. Turn.

For scarf: Rep Row 3 until scarf measures 56" (142.2cm) or desired length, leaving about 12" (30.5cm) of yarn to connect ends.

For headband: Rep Row 3 until piece measures 22" (55.9cm) or desired length for headband.

FINISHING

To connect ends, use the yarn needle to sew ends tog, making a continuous lp. Weave in ends.
