This garden reminds me of my time spent managing historic botanical gardens.
You have the basics under your belt, so now you are ready to plant some mini-gardens. There are fourteen projects in this section to help you get started. You can recreate them exactly as you see them demonstrated here, or you can use them for inspiration and design your own.
Part 1 gave you pointers and guidelines so that you can achieve a realistic miniature garden look with plants and accessories to scale, but don’t feel you have to limit yourself to those directions or these project outlines. Let your imagination take over.
The one rule you really should follow is to put plants together that need similar growing conditions. If you skip that, you be successful because your plants won’t grow.
Along that line, Part 2 is organized by the “end use” of the garden:
• Indoor Miniature and Fairy Gardens
• Terrariums and Aeriums
• Outdoor Miniature and Fairy Gardens
Each project description includes suggestions for appropriate plants and accessories for each type of garden. I hope seeing these projects will give you ideas for your own garden themes.
