5.12 Publish the Service in the Services Registry
After you’ve successfully created an ICO, you might need to publish it as a service in the Services Registry. As mentioned elsewhere in this book, you can think of the Services Registry as a yellow pages of services, from which a service consumer can discover existing services in your landscape and therefore be able to consume them. This is especially relevant for SOAP-based services.
As a prerequisite to publishing services, the Services Registry must be configured. However, this section won’t focus on how to configure the Services Registry. For more information about how to configure and set up the Services Registry, see Chapter 18, Section 18.4.
Assuming that the Services Registry is correctly configured and running, you’ll need to perform the following steps to publish your service:
- Launch the Integration Directory from the SAP PO landing page.
- Select and open the ICO related to the service that you would like to publish.
- From the top menu, select Integrated Configuration and then Publish in SR.
- In the pop-up screen, click on Publish.
After following the preceding steps, you should now be able to find your service in the Services Registry. It’s also possible to publish the service from the Services Registry instead of from the Integration Directory; refer to Chapter 18, Section 18.4 for more details.
