U.S. Navy Lighter-Than-Air Headquarters and Facilities, Second World War¹

1.    This list does not include the naval air facilities, mast bases, ferry stops, and other auxiliary facilities installed for fleet squadrons and their detachments—about three dozen locations. ZJ-1 alone had four detachments.

2.    With additional duty as commanding officer, Fleet Airship Wing Three (“two hats”).

3.    With additional duty as officer-in-charge, Airship Anti-Submarine Training Detachment (“two hats”).

4.    The three stateside departments reported directly to their respective station commanding officers under the Bureau of Aeronautics. Santa Cruz, however, was a fleet repair detachment.
