The ivory petals surrounded by spring green remind me of daises, growing row by row, in a field. You could make this lacy baby blanket in all white for a lovely christening shawl.
Make 36 Passion Flower squares, using C for Rnds 1 and 2, B for Rnds 3–5, and C for Rnds 6–9.
Join squares, 6 squares wide by 6 squares long, using the chain join method (see page 126). With RS facing, working through BL only and through double thickness, sc in each st across to join squares.
Cluster: [Yo, pick up lp in next st, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook] twice in same st, yo, draw through all 3 lps on hook.
Picot: Ch 3, sc in 3rd ch from hook.
Note: Count each seam as a st when working Rnd 1 of Edging.
RND 1: With RS facing, join B with a Sl st in top right-hand corner ch-3 sp, ch 3, dc in same st (counts as cluster for half corner), *[ch 3, skip next 3 dc, cluster next st, ch 1, sk next st, cluster in next st] across to next corner**, (cluster, ch 3, cluster) in corner ch-3 sp, rep from * around, ending last rep at **, cluster in same sp as joining, ch 3, join with a Sl st to top of beg ch-3. Fasten off B.
RND 2: With RS facing, join C with a Sl st in ch-3 sp just made, ch 1, *(sc, hdc, dc, tr, picot, tr, dc, hdc, sc) in corner ch-3 sp, **(sc, hdc, dc, tr, picot, tr, dc, hdc, sc) in next ch-3 space, sc in next ch 1 sp, rep from ** across to last ch-3 sp before next corner, (sc, hdc, dc, tr, picot, tr, dc, hdc, sc) in next ch-3 sp, rep from * around, join with Sl st in first sc. Fasten off C.
