Plaster cast in frame (see Chapter 16, Frame Casting), acrylic glaze brushed on plaster and wiped off, resin clay stamped with gel plate pattern, light acrylic glaze on resin dress, doll parts, wood dowel and epoxy glue.
Gel and modeling paste can do so many things—extending paint, acting as a glue, texturizing a surface—but who knew these products would be great to make a mold for casting? You can cast with plaster, resin clay and even powdered clay in your gel or modeling paste. Before you try casting with them, be sure to read all the information on these casting mediums in this book so you understand their qualities and use. Once you get a good handle on this technique, try some of the other pastes like crackle paste and coarse molding paste.
Molding paste and modeling paste are virtually the same product. Different companies do not always name their products the same.
