4.3 Try It!
Exercise 1
In this exercise, you’ll create an organizational structure for Engineering Massachusetts Holding Ltd. The focus is on producing and procuring units. The company has three production locations: one in Boston, one in Springfield, and another in Pittsfield.
The production location in Boston is financially independent, but Springfield and Pittsfield belong together. Each location has a warehouse for raw materials and a warehouse for finished products. Within the business, one centralized purchasing department procures materials for all locations.
Outline how you could map this structure in the SAP system using the organizational units in Table 4.2.
Organizational Unit | Key |
---|---|
Client | 805 |
Company code Boston | 1000 |
Company code Springfield and Pittsfield | 2000 |
Plant Boston | 1010 |
