France definitely has a leg up on the fast-food scene. I love grabbing a sandwich at a corner shop that might have salami and butter or ham and spicy Dijon mustard. Always really simple and never made complicated by anyone’s requests. It is what it is and it’s always really delicious!
This is a great sandwich to take to a picnic as it’s better left at room temperature.
INGREDIENTS
1 baguette
6 ounces brie, room temperature
8 ounces thinly sliced prosciutto or good-quality ham such as Bayonne
2 cups arugula
6 radishes, thinly sliced
Extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
Slice the baguette in half lengthwise. Spread the brie as evenly as possible on the bottom half of the baguette. Arrange the ham over the brie. Toss the arugula and radishes with a few drops of oil and arrange over the ham. Spread the mustard on the top half of the baguette and set in place. Slice the sandwich into four portions. Wrap each portion tightly in parchment paper, securing it with a piece of tape. The sandwiches may be kept at room temperature for 2 to 3 hours.
