Another inventive creation by CRU’s Kat Dunn, this drink was dreamed up while driving from Brooklyn to Nantucket when a Gin Blossoms song by this name came on, inspiring a great cocktail. “It had to be a riff on a Gin Blossom cocktail (gin, apricot eau-de-vie, St-Germain), and as jealousy and bitterness go hand in hand, this drink needed just a touch of Campari. This delicious cocktail starts strong and slightly sweet and ends boozy and slightly bitter.”
INGREDIENTS
3½ ounces The Botanist Gin (or gin of your choice)
1½ ounces Cocchi Americano (or Lillet Blanc)
1 ounce St-Germain
4 dashes orange bitters
1 lemon
Campari float (a scant ¼ ounce per glass once poured)
Add the gin, Cocchi Americano, St-Germain, and orange bitters to a mixing glass with ice and stir for 40 rotations. Strain into a coupe glass. Zest a long lemon peel into each glass. Pour the Campari into each glass and serve.
