PART II

THE RECIPES

My mission is to help people rediscover the joy of eating real food. My personal and professional journey has led me to promote healthy eating. On this journey, I have met remarkable people and discovered amazing organizations. Together we are creating a movement of people who are passionate and ready to make a difference.

As my good friend Steve Sidwell, the founder of Luvo, says, “Food is the problem, but it is also the solution.”

I am proud of my association with Luvo and my role as one of their ambassadors. We are working together to put into motion concrete solutions to the problem. Because we believe the solutions should be easy, I have collaborated with John Mitchell, Chief Innovation Officer at Luvo, to create all of the recipes in this book. Our mission is to reinvent “delicious.” We want to show that delicious can mean real food with amazing flavor at a reasonable cost. This approach to eating is not about deprivation or starvation or boring, bland diet food. Rather, it is about amazing, delicious, fun, and easy-to-prepare food that makes you feel great.

We hope you will share these meals with your friends and family, and that they become your favorites for generations to come. By buying this book and putting your commitment to healthy eating into action, you too can become a part of the solution.

You now have all of the information you need to embark on your healthy eating journey. One last note: Let this cookbook bring out the inner culinary genius in you. While following recipes is often helpful and inspiring, you don’t need recipes in order to eat well. I encourage you to start your own cooking revolution, whether you’re following these recipes to a T, editing them to suit your own tastes (a little more garlic, a little less cumin), or abandoning them in favor of your own creations. Have fun, and happy eating!
