It is said that there is another group of gods: the ribhus and maruts. They are distinguished by their virtue and youth, and are also distinct from the Siddhas and Sadhyas.
The Vishve·devas and Ashvins are also enumerated. The Adityas are the kshatriyas among them, and the maruts are the vaishyas. It is held that the Ashvins, who practiced fierce asceticism, are shudras, and that the gods born from Angiras are brahmins.

Thus I have explained the four classes of the gods. The person who calls out the names of these gods when he rises at dawn is released from all evil, both that brought about by himself and that inflicted by others.

Bala the son of Angiras,
Kanva son of the seer
Medhatithi and Barhi·shada promote welfare in the triple world, my son, and are the seven seers found in the East.

Unmucha, Vimucha,
Svasty·atreya the valorous, Pramucha, Idhma·vaha, the blessed Dridha·vrata and
Agastya, the mighty son of Mitra and Varuna: these Brahminic seers are always stationed in the Southern skies.
Ushangu,
Kavasha,
Dhaumya, Parivyadha the valorous, the great seers Ekata, Dvita and Trita, as well as the blessed son of Atri and Lord
Sarasvata: these illustrious beings are found in the Western
skies.*
Atreya, Vasishtha, the great seer Kashyapa, Gautama, Bharad·vaja,
Vishva·mitra the son of Kushika, and Jamad·agni, the blessed son of the illustrious Richika: these seven are found in the northern skies.
