In our world where there are so many differing views on sex and the sexual act, we can easily get confused which usually results in more complicated sex lives.
To enjoy healthy sexual energy is a very human trait. Our second chakra is the sacral. It is the energy center that controls our sexual powers and influences. When our sacral chakra is balanced and purified, we will discover more meaningful and satisfying sexual and creative lives.
Our sexual vibrations are powerful AND an important part of our physical and spiritual make up. This is exactly what this book is all about: a better understanding of how our sacral chakra can improve, heal and open our sexual channels.
This book will show you what a healthy and open sacral chakra can do. Although this is not an exhaustive guide to everything there is to know about chakras, you will get an amusing and interesting insight into how a happy chakra will benefit you.
Because chakra energy is incredibly spiritual, the condition of a healthy chakra will help with so many physical and spiritual aspects and you will soon learn the importance of balance.
Balance affects everything. It can influence the physical and psychological, spiritual and natural, male and female and even dark and light and especially good health or bad health.
You will soon learn about the energy centers up and down the body and how they act in
individual ways and affect many different things. One thing you will first notice is that although they range from top of the head all the way down to the underside of the torso they all must operate upon the vertical line of the spine which highlights the importance of balance.
The seven chakras have been identified and revered as powerful physical connections to other mystical influences for thousands of years, so it’s no surprise to see how often they have been misunderstood and misrepresented over the years.
There have been many erroneous versions that barely touch on the long and incredible journey the science of the chakras have made over the years. We are talking ancient and incredible wisdom here, which is completely linked to the physical human body and the world it is connected to.
As a quick crash course through the known history of chakra we know there were written teachings regarding chakras as far back as 1500-500 BC. The written proof was handed down through the Vedas which was an ancient tradition of writing in Northern India. It is rumored the chakra knowledge may have come from the much vaunted Aryan people that has been dubbed a super human race for many years.
The origin of the word chakra has been universally accepted as meaning ‘wheel’. It probably represents the wheel of the chariots the gods used to pass across the sky each day which many believe is a metaphor for the passage of the sun. Chakras became even more known through the widespread popularity of yoga practices.
The word ‘ yoga’ means yoke or union and is based on rising above nature in order to arrive at pure consciousness. This would include attaining free fluctuations of the mind and emotions. Kundalini yoga used the chakra system in conjunction with the Tantric traditions and therefore called on tantric sex positions to best explain the union of two people or opposites.
The chakras are often explained as constantly rotating and vibrating just as the wheels of energy they have come to represent. They are so much more than sexual energies good for only tantric sex. Once understood you can learn about all the influences they can have such as helping to cure chronic illnesses and even influences our thoughts and behavior.
Chakras are there to promote a healthy balance and make sure the energy flows can travel through the body unhindered. Each chakra is an expression of the physical body via passage through the endocrine glands. This regulates both the physical and emotional processes throughout the body.
The chakras can be charged and recharged over and over to keep contact with the cosmic field around us. Imbalances can block these energy fields interrupting the flow throughout the body.
The main source of energy flows up and down through the spine from the top of the crown to the tip of the base. The seven major chakras should be aligned in a straight vertical line to achieve the best vertical power line and free flowing path for energy.
The seven chakras are usually associated with certain colors to visually represent their various aspects. This is because the ancient associations coming through traditional representations associate the chakras with multiple physiological functions. This can be classical elements, aspects of consciousness or other distinguishing characteristics.
Each chakra is housed in one particular energy center on the plain of the vertical spine. They are found in the most important areas affecting our vital systems and organs.
Here is a brief description of each.
The Crown has violet as its color. It is found at the very top of the head as if pointing up to the heavens above. It is revered as the place of connection to the Supreme Being so it is linked with understanding and acceptance and ultimately bliss. It also goes by the name of the Chakra of Divine Purpose and our personal destiny.
Any blockage here will manifest itself in the shape of psychological problems. Physically the Crown Chakra is strongly associated with the Cerebral cortex and pituitary gland through the central nervous system.
The Third Eye can be found in the center of the forehead just above eye level and is matched with the color Indigo. This Chakra calls on us to challenge the spiritual nature of our life. It is understood as the chakra of perception, questioning and knowing.
The Third Eye concerns itself with intuition, vision and wisdom and has an insight to your dreams in your present life and recollections from your past lives. A blockage in this chakra will appear as problems with memory and depression and come across as mental rigidity or lack of foresight.
The throat chakra is naturally the chakra of communication, self-expression, judgment and creativity. It is understood as the chakra of the senses. This includes inner and outer hearing, healing, the synthesis of ideas and also transformation and purification.
The physical attributes of the Throat Chakra has a strong connection to the neck, shoulders, arms and hands and also an association with the thyroid and pituitary glands. The Throat Chakra is represented with the color turquoise.
The Heart Chakra is known in Asia as the house of the soul. This chakra is found in the heart and is the center of love and compassion and also peace and harmony. The heart chakra is connected to the color green and is complex as it is directly connected to its neighbor chakras.
When falling in love our feeling of unconditional love passes through the Heart Chakra and then onto the emotional center found in the solar plexus chakra. Strong feelings and attraction are followed later when moving into the Base Chakra which is often taken as a sign to settle down and start a family.
The Heart Chakra has psychical connections to the heart and lungs, arms, hands and thymus gland. Blockages will therefore arrive as problems with the heart and lungs and also immune system. Also it can manifest as a lack of compassion or appear as unprincipled behavior or inhumanity.
The Solar Plexus chakra is connected to the color yellow. It brings strong feelings of laughter, joy and anger and personal power. The Solar Plexus Chakra acts a storage area for ambition, ability, and sensitivity.
The Solar Plexus Chakra is found a few inches above the naval and is physically concerned with the digestive system, pancreas, adrenals and muscles. Blockages can appear through frustration, anger, and lack of direction or a sense of victimization.
The Navel Chakra is represented by the color orange and is located between the base of the spine and navel. Commonly called the sacral this chakra helps control desire, pleasure, creativity, sexuality and procreation and also emotion.
The Navel Chakra is most associated with the lower abdomen including bladder, kidneys, circulatory system and the reproductive glands and organs. Blockages will therefore create emotional problems, sexual guilt and obsessive behavior.
The sacral chakra will be discussed in depth later in the book.
The Root Chakra is found in the perineum between sexual glands and the anus. It is also the base of the spine so is very closely concerned with earthly grounding and physical survival as it is the Chakra that is closest to the earth. The Root chakra is represented as a deep red.
This powerful chakra is associated with the legs and feet, large intestine and adrenal glands and also your bones. It is a direct force behind the fight or flight response so any blockage may be manifested as fear or paranoia and defensiveness and procrastination.
The Root Chakra has been so named for good reason. This is the base of the body. You could call it the anchor of the human body because it is the lowest chakra to the ground and our connection with Mother Earth.
Svadhisthana actually means ‘one’s own abode’ in Sanskrit and just as interesting the root of ‘ svad’ translates as ‘to enjoy’ or ‘taste with pleasure’. It is no surprise then that the sacral as second chakra is our connection to the forces of desire, emotions and sexuality. They say the sacral holds the power of our deepest needs and desires so any blockage of the sacral can affect sexual performance.
The sacral is an instrument of one of the most powerful energies and contributes how we have movement of body and thoughts. The sacral is represented by a color of deep orange.
The Svadhisthana also fuels the body to help maintain balance such as life’s opposite polarities and can also help in renewing things in life. The sacral can be the source of balance between male and female, light and darkness, spirit and matter and self and other self.
Chakras can be seen as gifts when they are well maintained and kept free from the trials and tribulations of life. They are so intertwined with our daily emotions, feelings and even the constant flood of sensations we experience.
The second chakra, the sacral is no different and probably more in tune than the others. This means we must nurture it and cherish it, so it can allow the full flow of energy to keep our balance amidst out tumultuous lifestyles. Our pleasure, intimacy and sensuality connections very well depend on it.
The main contention of the second chakra is the modern lifestyles we have forced upon ourselves and the constant pressure of staying unemotional and in control at all times. It is akin to the modern conditioning of our society. We are not supposed to have strong feelings on show any more and the sacral suffers because of this.
We often frown at the appearance of passion and emotional reactions. The more we continue with this penchant for never losing our composure the more likely we get disconnected from our true feelings and also our bodies. We begin to lose sight of what our bodies may be trying to tell us.
The first sign of this can be partial blocking of the chakra and the sacral is particularly prone to this. The energy of this important chakra allows us to freely move and let go. It promotes the feeling of change and a transformation occurring in the body. The sacral allows us to experience this sensation as we live in the moment, in its true fullness.
The sacral is also responsible for our sexual feelings and sensitivities. As we accrue a collection of cultural struggles through our many sexual issues as part of a modern society, we are likely to block our chakras.
We live in an age where our sexual issues are normally glorified and magnified and at the same time can be rejected and over complicated. It is hardly surprising we can have so many altered issues with our feelings, sensuality and enjoyment.
The sacral is our passion center and takes all of these issues on board. Creating blockages with our lifestyles is going to hamper our feelings of enjoyment, sensuality and well-being.
The sacral chakra is also our center of creativity. This creativity is fueled by passion. Developing this sense of creativity will help stave off blockages that can actually be debilitating.
Even creating tangible items such as drawings, paintings and poems all benefit from the energy passed on through your second chakra. Even fertility itself is a product of this creative energy as childbirth is the most creative process of them all.
Take time to nurture and enhance your creative awareness and development. Simply by walking barefooted outdoors helps to stir creative energy. The pure sensation of being connected to nature through the feeling of grass under your feet helps reciprocate these energies.
An individual with an open and healthy Svadhisthana chakra will be well versed in recognizing their passion and sensual and creative feelings that help connect them to everything around them. Just like the other chakras the Svadhisthana can be described as a vibrating field of light not noticeable directly looked on by the naked human eye.
A strong connection to the Svadhisthana can be made through a deep communion with the body. If you think of your body as a temple it will become the solid foundation for physical and mental health.
A simple way to learn this is through the power of touch. When lacking physical touch you can become disjointed from your emotional body. Allowing more physical touching in your life will keep you more closely connected to your own emotions and how you feel about yourself and to others.
There are some simple ways to bring more physical touch into your life so try some of these:
We should all try to keep our Svadhisthana unblocked. This way we can tap into the almost unlimited energy releasing benefits healthy chakras can bring. The chakra is there as a gateway to spiritual and physical energy which, if correctly dialed in, can be continually feeding a tired and health hungry body.
An open and happy chakra will act as a vortex that can be switched on like electricity. The idea is that an open chakra creates this vortex based on consciousness and matter. Consciousness will enter the body through the crown on the top of the head and be allowed to freely flow downward throughout the rest of the body.
This is in contrast to our connection to the ground and the upward flow of energy we receive. The chakras allow for both energy flows to come together and meet in a balanced way to give our minds and bodies a free flowing stability.
It can’t be stressed enough how important it is to allow for a balanced and well maintained flowing of energies. Healthy, open chakras will naturally add vitality and harmony and can provide a substantial level of holistic health by themselves.
We often don’t realize how easy it is to let our life experiences affect and block our chakras. When this happens our overall health and well-being can get severely compromised and we will then need to retune and retouch our chakra balances.
It is also just as important to keep overproducing chakras in check. Just as sluggish and under producing chakras can be effected by negativity and emotional life influences so can over reacting chakras lead to drama and stressful situations.
The major chakras are strongly associated with all our feelings and expressions including our sixth sense. Negative reactions and emotions are likely to be prone to partially blocked chakras. Whatever problems we may have, whether struggling with emotional problems or physical ailments or stresses and strains, we can probably say that we may have stagnant or blocked energy somewhere.
Negative emotions are obviously more psychologically based and are likely to be complex so they would need to be worked on to help unblock any stuck energy. Any rigid and dogmatic spiritual perceptions or faulty beliefs should be looked at for a clearly reflection to aid the recovery of closed chakras.
Positive energy flow will also help physical frailties. Stagnant energy may be a direct root cause of recurring ailments and any energy that is stuck in a blockage is not going to serve your highest purpose. If you can broaden your perspective in an effort to work with your chakras you should be able to affect the necessary changes in life to improve your situations in health, personal relationships, wellbeing and financial outlook.
It could remain a dysfunctional situation that you will find yourself in if you do not keep closely in touch with your emotions and feelings especially if there are any suppressed emotions or things may be kept inside or away from others. Bottling up any creative expression can impair judgment working against codependency for instance.
If you have one of these you will tend to be used to dramas and have over emotional tendency. It is likely you have an unhealthy emotional attachment with people you come across during your normal routine and can get stressed when these people miss appointments with you for instance.
Physical, emotional and mental tension of your muscles is probably normal for you and sometimes an over-active sacral can result in sexual addiction.
If this is the case then you may have tendencies to be too afraid of enjoying yourself. This in turn causes a lack of creativity and can appear as laziness or sluggishness. Having a weak sex drive or suffering from chronic fatigue disorders may also be experienced regularly.
Physical symptoms such as abdominal pain and irregular menstruation are common when there is an imbalance in the sacral. More serious issues may develop if left unchecked such as kidney, bladder and urinary infections.
It is possible that continued health imbalance could end up as serious as endometriosis, ovarian cysts, ectopic pregnancy and an increased chance of prostate and testicular cancers.
The sacral chakra can be blocked due to a number of reasons such as an unsatisfactory sex life or a past sexual traumatic incident or low self esteem and poor state of general health.
Your second chakra is your center for all your creative and sexual energies. The sacral is dedicated to the energies that help you develop relationships with both people and circumstances. It is also about pro-creation and our abilities of nurturing and creating by birth the seeds of life.
Many forms of sacred union can be explored such as:
You can put away the Viagra because it is easy to maintain and stimulate the Svadhisthana . You simply need to do more of the things that make you happy. Make more of an effort to repeat all the stuff you love doing. If certain activities make you feel good and healthy then do them as much as possible and don’t forget to avoid all the horrible stuff you just don’t like.
An easy way to start is by discovering and developing all the things you like doing and have a talent for. Expressing your talents through your creativity should make it feel so good that it feels completely right to be doing it. These should be creative things that will come naturally to you.
This is your chance to utilize all your hidden innate talents and show off your unique gifts. You can nurture the power within the sacral and become mindful when expressing your pleasure, creative and loving sides.
There are many views concerning tantric sex and in the west particularly tantric sex manuscripts have been perceived as being sex aids and guides similar to the Kama Sutra. This is of course not true as the art and science of tantric beliefs and philosophies transcend many practices and traditions and involve far higher purposes than just sex.
Tantric sex rituals are the personification of the union of masculine and feminine energy. This is seen as a very pure state hence tantra sex being seen as a state of worship and soulful merger of two lovers. The idea is that the lover’s identities begin to dissolve into divine freedom from stress and insecurity. This is the main reason why tantric orgasms last much longer than normal for several hours.
This is sometimes referred to as the love dance or energy dance and is seen as a gift that has been bestowed upon them. Tantric sex lovers will have much more love, adoration and respect than normal lovers. The lovers can receive an experience of consciousness in a divine realm of bliss and joy.
The actual practice of tantric sex is normally surmised in a final ritual of shared energy. The post coital lovers will sit facing each other and create a loop through touching each other so their energies can revolve through each other in one unison circle. The male will breathe in while the female breathes out. Often they will place a hand on each other’s hearts and genitals and slowly breathe so their energies can pass through each other via all these vital organs.
The sexual energy will flow round in a strong circle from one groin around the body to the other. It is recommended for beginners to not only imagine this energy circle but to actually feel it. This circle represents purify and unification and only positive thoughts. There is no room for sex for egotistical reasons.
There are many benefits to keeping your chakras as open as possible. Here is a list of everyday things you can do have a happy healthy life and keep your sacral open and flowing with positive energy:
- I strongly believe pleasure in life is sacred.
- I respect the universe for its beauty and sweetness.
- I am able to make changes easily.
- I allow myself more pleasure time.
- I have grace and pleasure in my life.
- I allow for real emotions to flow through me.
- I rest and play regularly.
- I balance my desires and wants in a harmonious way.
- I am spontaneous, creative and joyful.
- I like to use creativity in new things to uplift my spirit and pleasure.
As you can now see our chakras are very important to use and are an integral part of our mind, body and spirit. Having more joy and pleasure is only part of the equation as peace and respect are also integral parts of healthy and rewarding lifestyles.
The chakras, as typified by the sacral, are not only energy centers that can be nurtured and understood but they serve as gateways to more spiritual influences that can be manipulated and allowed to give us special gifts. We can learn to correctly receive and appreciate the health benefits available to us for the mind and the body.
Just by studying and adapting our lives to use this knowledge and intuition we can learn about the true health of our internal systems and develop personal techniques to improve the effectiveness of our chakras. By learning all about their different purposes and attributes we can understand how to better use them and read the signs they can often tell us.
As you have no doubt learned, the chakras are found in the center of our most delicate and yet powerful body parts. The sacral, for instance, represents so much more than our sexual health and reproductive readiness but it holds the key to our very sexuality and sensuality.
Our libido and sex drive derive their power bases via the sacral and all our sexual energies and feelings run right through the center of this powerful chakra. We can learn a great deal about ourselves and our deepest thoughts and weaknesses brought through temptation just by strengthening the connection to our sacral.
