Fabric Requirements and Cutting
NOTE
Most of the pieces in this block are cut using templates from Pattern 21 (pullout page P2). The dimensions listed in the chart under “Size to Cut” represent the amount of fabric required for each piece. More fabric may be required for shortcut piecing or fussy cutting.
To make a template from a pattern, refer to Making and Using Freezer-Paper Templates. When cutting your fabric, remember to add seam allowances and mark points for matching seams.
Make the Block
1. Sew together pieces A3.
2. Sew together pieces A4.
3. Sew unit A3 and unit A4 to piece B. figure a
4. Sew piece A5 to unit AB, aligning the top edges. figure b
5. Sew together 2 pieces A1 and 2 pieces A2, aligning the top edges. figure c
6. Sew the pieced unit from Step 5 to the unit from Step 4, aligning the top edges. Use Template A from Pattern 21 to cut unit A from the pieced unit. figure d
7. Sew piece C to the bottom of the block. figure e
