Fabric Requirements and Cutting
NOTE
Some of the pieces in this block are cut using templates from Pattern 26. The dimensions listed in the chart under “Size to Cut” represent the amount of fabric required for each piece. More fabric may be required for shortcut piecing or fussy cutting.
To make a template from a pattern, refer to Making and Using Freezer-Paper Templates. When cutting your fabric, remember to add seam allowances and mark points for matching seams.
Make the Block
1. Sew together pieces A1 and A2.
2. Use Template A from Pattern 26 to cut unit A from the pieced unit. figure a
3. Sew together unit A and pieces B and C. figure b
Finish the Block
Trim the excess fabric from the sides to make a block 5½˝ × 8½˝. figure c
