Fabric Requirements and Cutting
Align the 2 pieces of fabric with right sides together. Use a fabric marker to draw the diagonal seam line as shown in the diagram. Sew along the marked line. Trim away the excess fabric to leave a ¼˝ seam allowance. Press the seam open.
Make the Block
For all columns, refer to Sewing Diagonal Seams.
Make Column 1
Place piece B on top of piece A. Mark and sew the diagonal seam. figure a
Make Column 2
1. Sew together the pieces C. figure b
2. Place piece D on top of unit C. Mark and sew the diagonal seam. figure c
Make Column 3
Place piece F on top of piece E. Mark and sew the diagonal seam. figure d
Make Column 4
Place piece G on top of piece H. Mark and sew the diagonal seam. figure e
Finish the Block
Sew the columns together. figure f
