An Apple a Day Smoothie

Not only does an apple a day keep the doctor away, but it may also keep the wrinkles away. Loaded with quercetin, a potent antioxidant, apples can aid in the fight against free radicals. In addition, the glutathione found in spinach fights against aging and dementia. Drink this smoothie for the beautiful side effects, but enjoy it for the taste.

Recipe Yields: 3–4 cups

2 cups spinach

2 small apples of choice, peeled and cored

2 small carrots, peeled

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

14 teaspoon ground nutmeg

14 teaspoon vanilla extract or seeds from 14 vanilla bean

2 cups unsweetened almond milk

  1. Combine all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.
  2. Add more liquid if necessary.
