Glowing Beauty Smoothie

Containing both pumpkin and carrot, this creamy indulgence is full of carotenes. The human body converts carotene into vitamin A, which is necessary for cell growth and skin support. If you have a little pumpkin purée left over after making this smoothie, whisk an egg into it and give yourself a facial. The pumpkin will protect you from age spots, the yolk is full of nourishment, and the egg white tightens skin.

Recipe Yields: 3–4 cups

2 cups green leaf lettuce

12 cup pumpkin purée

1 medium carrot, peeled

12 avocado, peeled and pitted

14 teaspoon ground cinnamon

14 teaspoon vanilla extract or seeds from 14 vanilla bean

1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds

2 cups green tea, cooled

  1. Combine all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.
  2. Add more liquid if necessary.
