Sunrise Smoothie

Full of citrus fruits, this smoothie screams “good morning.” Enjoy this with a hard-boiled egg on your way to work and you won’t be tempted to hit a drive-thru for breakfast. In addition, you will have strong resolve to fight off any coworkers bearing well-intended muffins.

Recipe Yields: 3–4 cups

2 cups green leaf lettuce

2 celery stalks with leaves

1 cup frozen pineapple cubes

1 orange, peeled and seeded

Juice of 1 grapefruit

1 cup water

1–2 teaspoons raw honey, optional

  1. Combine all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.
  2. Add more liquid if necessary.
