Bananalicious Smoothie

Before adding them to your smoothie, soaking nuts and seeds overnight helps wash away the naturally occurring anti-nutrients such as phytic acid and tannins. It also increases the potency of vitamins and helps with the growth of healthy enzymes necessary for healthy digestion. Soaking is not necessary; however, to get the most from seeds and nuts, you may want to take this extra step.

Recipe Yields: 3–4 cups

2 cups butter lettuce

2 peeled and frozen bananas

1 medium apple of choice, peeled and cored

1 tablespoon sunflower seeds

6 pecan halves

2 cups water

  1. Combine all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.
  2. Add more liquid if necessary.
