Terrific Turmeric Smoothie

Turmeric is a yellow root herbaceous plant that belongs to the ginger family. When you ingest it, your body absorbs its nutrients slowly so you get ample benefits. One way to assist with this is to consume it with oil, such as the coconut oil in this smoothie. The coconut oil not only assists the turmeric’s nutritional absorption; it is great for digestion. Topically, coconut oil is also an excellent option for your complexion.

Recipe Yields: 3–4 cups

2 cups green leaf lettuce

112 cups frozen mango cubes

12 cup mixed berries

1 teaspoon coconut oil

12" knob turmeric, peeled or 14 teaspoon dried turmeric

2 cups green tea, cooled

  1. Combine all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.
  2. Add more liquid if necessary.
