Kombucha-Cha Smoothie

Kombucha is a fermented tea thought for thousands of years to be a healing tonic. It is popular within the Paleo community because it is another fermented food option. Sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha, and other fermented foods help the digestive system, which is very important for gut health. Because kombucha has a strong and distinct flavor, “hiding” it in a smoothie may be the perfect way for someone who is at first put off by the drink.

Recipe Yields: 3–4 cups

2 cups spinach

2 cups frozen strawberries, stems removed

14 cup unsweetened coconut flakes

1 teaspoon coconut oil

2 cups kombucha

1 tablespoon raw honey, optional
