Figgy Pudding Smoothie

Stop singing about it and just drink it! Charles Dickens would be proud. Take the refined sugar and bleached flour out of the traditional recipe and kick back by the fireplace with this nutrition-filled smoothie of figs, dates, and nut milk. One sip of this and your non-Paleo pals will make it part of their tradition too.

Recipe Yields: 3–4 cups

2 cups spinach

4 figs

1 peeled and frozen banana

1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon orange zest

2 Medjool dates, pitted and minced

2 cups unsweetened almond milk

  1. Combine all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.
  2. Add more liquid if necessary.
