Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

Yum . . . this creamy smoothie will make you think of Thanksgiving celebrations. The pure maple syrup is easier on the stomach than refined sugar, which can cause indigestion and gas. The pumpkin contains tryptophan, which is important in the production of serotonin. Serotonin is a mood enhancer and will help you handle the craziness of your family get-together.

Recipe Yields: 3–4 cups

2 cups mixed greens

1 peeled and frozen banana

14 cup organic pumpkin purée

2 teaspoons cinnamon

2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice

1 tablespoon pure maple syrup

2 tablespoons pumpkin seeds

2 cups unsweetened almond milk

  1. Combine all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.
  2. Add more liquid if necessary.
