Metabolic Lemon Smoothie

Don’t mistake that cute bright yellow lemon simply as a garnish. Lemons protect the immune system, boost your metabolism, and assist with weight loss. Throw away those sports drinks; lemons contain electrolytes such as potassium, magnesium, and calcium to help replenish the body after a heart-pumping workout.

Recipe Yields: 3–4 cups

2 cups mixed greens

2 lemons, peeled and seeded

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 cucumber, peeled

1 medium carrot, peeled

12" knob ginger, peeled

2 cups green tea, cooled

  1. Combine all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.
  2. Add more liquid if necessary.
