Cherry Barre Smoothie

Barre is an exercise that incorporates ballet, pilates, and yoga. The goal is to lengthen and strengthen the muscles through isometric movements without the impact and injuries that result from some forms of exercise. Barre is also a great stress reliever and helps you find balance with your body. Cherries play a role in sleep and cell regeneration due to the melatonin present in these little gems.

Recipe Yields: 3–4 cups

2 cups Swiss or rainbow chard

1 cup pitted sweet cherries

1 cup frozen seedless grapes

2 limes, peeled and seeded

2 tablespoons raw sunflower seeds

2 cups green tea, cooled

Handful of ice cubes as needed

  1. Combine all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.
  2. Add more liquid if necessary.
