What the Hill Smoothie

Whether you are hitting the open road or killing a spin class, cycling can burn some serious calories. Adding coconut oil to a pre-workout smoothie can give you longer-lasting energy. Because it is a “good” fat and fat burns slower than carbohydrates, it is exactly what you need to help power through and get up and down those hills.

Recipe Yields: 3–4 cups

2 cups mixed greens

2 cups frozen strawberries

1 banana, peeled

14 cup cashews

2 teaspoons coconut oil

1 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 cup water

  1. Combine all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.
  2. Add more liquid if necessary.
