After WOD Smoothie

Cindy, Diane, Amanda . . . and more! Why does everyone who finishes a CrossFit WOD (workout of the day) come out cursing these nice ladies’ names? The WODs are named after females. Coach Glassman, founder and president of CrossFit, states, “I want to explain the workout once and then give it a name. I thought that anything that left you flat on your back, looking up at the sky asking, ‘what just happened to me?’ deserved a female’s name.” The benefits of the powerhouse list of ingredients in this smoothie are endless, but it mainly helps to counter the inflammatory elements due to daily stressors, and the protein from the eggs helps rebuild muscle.

Recipe Yields: 3–4 cups

2 cups spinach

2 pastured eggs from farm-raised hens

2 small apples of choice, cored and seeded

12 avocado, peeled and seeded

14 teaspoon cinnamon

18 cup cashews

2 cups coconut milk

6–8 coconut water ice cubes

  1. Combine all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.
  2. Add more liquid if necessary.
