Using yarn A, start with a magic ring.
Round 1 (WS): ch 1 (does not count as st), 8 sc into ring, sl st in beginning sc, turn (8 sts).
Round 2 (RS): ch 3 (counts as 1 sl st, ch 2), [sl st in next st, ch 2] seven times, sl st in first ch of beginning ch 3 (8 x 2-ch sp).
Fasten off yarn A.
Round 3 (RS): using yarn B, [1 sl st, ch 2, 2 hdc] in each 2-ch sp around, sl st in beginning sl st, turn (8 x hdc blocks).
