I would like to say a big thankyou to my incredible mum and
dad for always believing that recovery was possible and for
giving me the freedom to follow my dreams.

Charlotte, my loyal and loving twin sister for being
the wind beneath my wings.

Jay, your unconditional love has been
the final piece in my puzzle.

My wonderful grandparents, thank you for loving
me the way you do, mental illness and all!

Callum for being the brother I never had
and always being there.

To my Aunty Sue and Uncle Steve
for always being a phone call away.

A special thankyou to Zoe, Kim, Hannah, Alice,
Maisie, Ed, Maria and all my friends for being
everything a friend could want and more.

To Neil, who from the very beginning has joined
me on my creative journey and encouraged me to be me.

A warm thank you to my wonderful GPs, past and present,
John Dalzell and Sarah Benney, who over the years have
always given me their unreserved support.

Thank you to Barnaby for bringing my poems
alive through his brilliant illustrations. 14

Over the years I have been incredibly blessed
to have been supported by so many wonderful people,
including Dave Spinx, Carina Skinner, Mitch,
Aunty Kate, Dionne and Leanne.

Last and by no means least, thank you to my
lovely publisher Georgina Bentliff (Hammersmith Health
Books) for being so supportive, open-minded and a total
pleasure to work with.

Once again, a big thank you to all those mentioned above and the many others who have championed, helped and supported me over the years; without each and every one of you, I know I would not be who and where I am today… Thank you!
