MAKES: 2 (12-OUNCE) SERVINGS • DIFFICULTY: easy
This is a great way to drink your vegetables!
2 cups spinach, red kale, or other dark greens
1 or 2 plum tomatoes
1 celery rib, coarsely chopped
½ red bell pepper, quartered
1 tablespoon chopped red onion, or 1 small garlic clove
½ jalapeño pepper, seeded (optional, but whoo-hoo!)
2 teaspoons blended peeled lemon (see here)
1 apple, cored and quartered
2 teaspoons chlorella (optional)
1 ¼-inch piece fresh turmeric, grated (or ¼ teaspoon ground)
½ cup ice cubes
Combine all the ingredients with 2 cups of water in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth. Transfer to large glasses and serve.
