This recipe is nothing short of a crowd pleaser. Chocolaty energy balls are low in sugar and high in healthy fats—a kind of dream snack for the health enthusiast in your life. They’re a serious contender for best dessert when you’re craving something sweet but don’t want to overdue it. A few midnight balls are a great choice to end the night. —MR
MAKES 12 BALLS
⅔ cup (112 g) unsalted almonds
⅔ cup (78 g) rolled oats (gluten-free)
⅓ cup (60 g) almond butter, or to your liking
2 tbsp (14 g) raw cacao powder
3 tbsp (42 g) coconut oil
3 tbsp (45 ml) nut milk
⅓ cup (57 g) Medjool dates, pitted
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp ground cinnamom
Pinch of salt
Blend all the ingredients in a food processor until smooth. Then roll the mixture into small balls and enjoy! I like to store mine in the fridge or freezer for a preworkout snack and for a midnight (more like 9 p.m.) treat.
