Ready in mere seconds, this deceptively simple mix is actually loaded with complex flavors that will make your dishes a million times better than they already are. No joke: I’ve had several absolutely nonvegan-friendly folks ask what was cooking and if they could have some when pots of foods were simmering over the stove using that broth. MAKES 1⅓ CUPS (150 G)
1 cup (80 g) nutritional yeast
1 tbsp (5 g) dried tomato powder
1 tbsp (5 g) dried mushroom powder
1 tbsp (3 g) Italian seasoning or a mix of dried basil, parsley and oregano
1 tbsp (18 g) coarse kosher salt
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Aleppo-style pepper flakes or ½ tsp red pepper flakes
1 tsp smoked paprika
Place all of the ingredients in a large mason jar. Screw the lid tightly and shake it to thoroughly combine. Store the powder at room temperature or in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
