This is a treat for those nights when only a quick fix of chocolate will satisfy your sweet cravings. It doesn’t get much easier than this: dates dipped in chocolate and coated in nuts. Dessert simplicity at its best. —MR
MAKES 15 DATES
CHOCOLATE DATES
1 (2- to 3-oz [55- to 85-g]) bar vegan chocolate
15 Medjool dates, pitted
Crushed nuts
Hemp seeds
Goji berries
Cacao nibs
TO SERVE
Nut butter
Raspberries or other berries
Maple syrup
FOR THE CHOCOLATE DATES
Melt the bar of chocolate over low heat in a saucepan, stirring as it melts. Then dip the dates into the chocolate sauce and immediately top with crushed nuts, hemp seeds, goji berries or cacao nibs, and place them in the freezer to harden for 15 minutes.
FOR SERVING
To stuff the dates, simply cut the date in half. Then add a dollop of almond butter into the hole of the date and top with a piece of fruit—I love it with raspberry and a drizzle of maple syrup.
