2 cups (470 ml) plain unsweetened almond milk
3 tbsp (21 g) cocoa powder
½ tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of sea salt
¼ cup (43 g) pitted Medjool dates
¼ tsp ground ginger
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
TOPPINGS (OPTIONAL, BUT VERY RECOMMENDED)

Chocolate shavings
Blend all the hot chocolate ingredients until smooth, luscious and sweet. Adjust according to taste and texture preferences. Add to a saucepan and warm over low heat. Pour into mugs. Add marshmallows and chocolate shavings if desired!
