Five minutes, three ingredients and one pot is all that’s needed to create a luscious caramel sauce. Serve it over ice cream, freshly baked pies, slathered onto toast or completely on its own—spoonful to mouth. —MR
SERVES 3 TO 4
¼ cup (55 g) coconut oil
¼ cup (60 ml) maple syrup
2 tbsp (23 g) unsalted cashew butter or almond butter
Pinch of sea salt
In a small saucepan, warm the coconut oil until melted. Remove it from the heat and add the remaining ingredients. Mix until a thick, luscious caramel sauce has formed. Store in the fridge for up to a week. Enjoy over ice cream, pies and dessert … or by itself!
