Moon Signs

Choosing a partner will always be a primarily emotional matter. It's therefore important for you to be aware of your potential lover's emotional characteristics. In this respect, your Moon sign and that of your prospective partner could be of the greatest significance, even more so than the Sun sign or the rising sign.

The zodiac sign occupied by the Moon at the time of your birth is known as your Moon sign. This shows your inner, emotional side, and it can give far more information about a person's basic or real needs than the Sun sign.

Finding the Moon Sign

The following charts will enable you to determine the Moon sign for yourself or anyone else.

First, look at the Year section of the large table and find your year of birth. Track to the right along the same line, into the Month section until you reach your birth-month column. Note down the zodiac sign where the line and the column cross.

Next, look at the smaller table on page 125 headed Exact Day of Birth, and find the day of the month on which you were born. The number immediately below it is the number of zodiac signs you must add to the zodiac sign you have noted down to reach your Moon sign. For example, if you were born on November 5, 1975, your Moon sign works out to be Libra plus the next two signs, Scorpio and Sagittarius; in other words, Sagittarius.

Naturally, this is not an exact system, but it is accurate enough for most people and it will certainly do until you have a full natal chart to look at.
