Sometimes breakfast doesn’t have to be much more than delicious ingredients piled on your favorite toast. The same goes for lunch, dinner, and snacks too! Here are some of my favorite toast-topping combinations:
Savory
Mashed avocado with sea salt or Everything-Bagel Seasoning (here) (a classic and pretty much a daily stand-by in our house). Add eggs to make it even more filling: hard, soft, or scrambled.
Mashed avocado, grape tomatoes, chopped bacon, arugula
Hummus, cucumber slices, grape tomatoes, Kalamata olives, crumbled feta
Fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, fresh basil, a drizzle of balsamic glaze
Basil pesto, fresh mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes
Cottage cheese, sliced tomato, sliced avocado, salt, pepper
Cream cheese, smoked salmon, red onion, dill, capers
Goat cheese, pear, prosciutto
Goat cheese, roasted red peppers, fresh basil
Sweet
Peanut butter, apple slices, honey
Peanut butter, banana, chopped dark chocolate or mini chocolate chips
Vanilla almond butter, peach slices, sliced almonds
Plain Greek yogurt, berries, a sprinkle of granola
Ricotta cheese, pear slices, chopped hazelnuts, honey
Brie, cranberry sauce or berry jam, grated orange zest
Cream cheese, sliced strawberries, chopped pistachios
Cream cheese, fresh pineapple, toasted coconut
Nutella, raspberries
