Seasoned salt adds a quick depth of flavor to almost everything and saves time as you are cooking. Unfortunately, store-bought seasoned salts often have anticaking agents, MSG, and other additives. Making them on your own is easy, though. This simple spice mixture works well on everything from meat or fish to vegetables and grains.
• 1½ to 2 tablespoons salt
• 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
• 4 teaspoons paprika
• 2 teaspoons garlic powder
• 2 teaspoons onion powder or dried minced onions
• 2 teaspoons dried thyme
• 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes, or ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
• 1 teaspoon ground coriander
Combine all the ingredients in a small jar. Cover and shake well until well mixed. Store in a cool, dry place.
Tip: Make a double or triple batch to have around whenever you need it.
