I appreciate the fact that I have taken the road less traveled; it was the most conscientious route I could find! I choose to continue this path as long as I can take care of myself and provide some help to others. I believe, first and foremost, that I must first do good for myself in order to have the energy to do good for others. I am pleased to acknowledge the people here who have made the most delightful difference in my life.
My Family: My mother; father; sisters Mary and Linda; Grandmother Padget; Great-Grandmother Rickard; Great-Great-Grandfather Smith; Aunt Louise; Aunt Dorothy; Aunt Frances; Great-Aunt Eva; Great-Uncle Tommy; Uncles Lever, B.N., Brinton, and Freeman; cousins Lillian, Ellen, Frank, and Roy; a score of second and third cousins; and of course my wife, Mary-Charlotte; our children, Brock, Craig, and Laurel, and their spouses, plus our grandchildren, Sophia, Jared, Natalie, Lexi, and Joshua. For more than 52 years, Mary-Charlotte provided me the solid support and nurturing that allowed me to develop all the tools that I found to assist others in achieving greater heath.
Extraordinary Teachers: Miss Ada; Miss Taylor; Willie Tiller; Mrs. Funderburke; James Sheeley; Talmage Peele; Eugene A. Stead, Jr.; Jack Myers; Henry McIntosh; Carl Moyer; Frank Engle; Herb Lourie; Tom Ballantine; Sam Keen; Jack Schwartz; Bella Karrasch; Elmer Green; Henry Rucker; Bob Leichtman; Caroline Myss; Deena Spear; Marianne Alexander; Cay Randall-May; Bill Farber; and scores of others.
Friends: Several hundred, but with very special thanks to Robert, Mutt, Jim, Rick, Harry, Ed, Gordon, Gladys, Roger, Joe, Bill, Joe, Bob, Ann, Fred, Caroline, Robert, Julie, and Lucia.
Editorial and Publishing: I am grateful to the team at Hay House for their valuable assistance in the production and promotion of this book. I am indebted to my staff members in Missouri who help me keep the farm and our companies so well organized and running smoothly. And I appreciate the help of my conscientious editor and advisor on this project, Simone Graham, who worked with me to get this manuscript ready for publication.
