Treasures from the Southern Garden
No one sees anything missing when there is a bountiful harvest of fresh vegetables and fruits on the Southern table. There’s never a “where’s the meat?” comment. Ladies and gentlemen, rich folks and not so rich, saints and hellions, all connect with the earth and her bounty come springtime in the South. The garden is a hobby for some, a necessity for others. Fruit trees bloom abundantly and pecan orchards litter the ground with plantations of goodness that fill the world’s need for delicious desserts. No matter what incredible dishes are created in the Southern kitchen, every one of them is better when accompanied by the words “from my garden.”
