6.5 Manual Data Acquisition
In addition to loading data into SAP BW/4HANA, you can also enter data manually for master data attributes, texts, and hierarchies. This master data maintenance is performed using the Web Dynpro ABAP interface.
Prerequisites
This option has the following prerequisites:

Activate the following Internet Communication Framework (ICF) services:
- /default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro
- /default_host/sap/public/bc
- /default_host/sap/public/bc/ur
- /default_host/sap/public/bc/icons
- /default_host/sap/public/bc/icons_rtl
- /default_host/sap/public/bc/webicons
- /default_host/sap/public/bc/pictograms
- /default_host/sap/public/bc/webdynpro/*
- /default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/RSDMDM_MD_MAINTENANCE_APP
- /default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/RSDMDM_MD_NEW_APP
- /default_host/sap/public/myssocntl
- Characteristic InfoObjects must have at least one of the following master data properties enabled to store master data: master data, texts, and/or hierarchies, as discussed in Chapter 5, Section 5.3.1.
The master data maintenance, as in the example shown in Figure 6.45, is accessed when you display a characteristic and click the Miscellaneous button.

The following options may be available:

Master Data Maintenance
For maintaining master data attributes and texts. -
Hierarchy Maintenance
For maintaining hierarchies for the characteristic. -
Transfer Routine Maintenance
To allow you to create a conversion routine for the characteristic to be used globally during transformations. You can define different conversion routines in this option depending on the source system.
Once the master data is maintained, click Save and Activate to make the master data changes effective and available for reporting.
