SPELLS
A beautiful aspect of witchcraft is its capacity to be used for personal growth, from increasing confidence and working on flaws, to revealing a version of yourself that would make your younger self look on with awe.

SELF-REALIZATION AND EMPOWERMENT
TOOLS Dropper bottle or mason jar
INGREDIENTS 2 tbsp base oil (almond or grape seed) | 3 drops rosemary oil | 3 drops verbena oil | 3 drops milk thistle oil | 3 Tiger’s Eye crystal chips
This oil is intended to give you the strength to create your own reality. It can be used by itself or as an ingredient in other spells or rituals, and is perfect for dressing your candles.
Start by cleansing your ingredients. Add each ingredient to the bottle, while saying:
With each ingredient that I add, the powers come together, I am strong, I am empowered, I am free, so mote it be.
Shake the bottle or jar to activate the ingredients’ energies. Pour one drop of the oil onto your hands and rub them together until warm. Pull your hands apart slightly, feeling the energy, then move your hands toward your chest, as if to push that energy into your own heart. Say the incantation:
I am strong, I am empowered, I am free, so mote it be.
BEST TIME Waxing Moon or Full Moon
NOTE For topical use only
TOOLS Pen | Paper | Body lotion
To assist in your personal growth journey, create a sigil that you can draw on your skin. Use this in a spell or as part of your daily ritual.
Start by cleansing your altar space and the tools. To create a sigil for personal growth, write either the words “personal growth” or more specific goals or affirmations. Use the technique to create your sigil.
To activate your sigil, draw it on your body with lotion, so it may work over time.
BEST TIME Waxing Moon
TOOLS A token such as jewelery to commemorate this ritual
This ceremonial ritual should be carried out when you wish to dedicate yourself to the path of witchcraft. Inspired by traditional occult ceremonies, it is similar in nature to an initiation, but keep in mind this is not mandatory in the practice of witchcraft.
Cast a circle and sit in meditation, feeling energy flow through you. Take your token in your hands, move to the north and say the words:
Guardian of the north, element of earth, infuse my token with your strength.
Then move to the east and say:
Guardian of the east, element of air, infuse my token with your wisdom.
Next move to the south and say:
Guardian of the south, element of fire, infuse my token with your courage.
Lastly move to the west and say:
Guardian of the west, element of water, infuse my token with your healing energies.
Stand in the center of the circle you have just created and place your hands over your heart, feeling the energy there. Then slowly raise your hands, expanding the energy to flow freely upward. Say the words:
Divine energy, I come today to dedicate myself to the path of witchcraft, to learning and growing evermore, to accepting and loving, and to appreciating the magick within us and around us. So I swear this oath, so mote it be.
Now hold your token and kiss it. Either sit in meditation, or feast with the spirits present. When finished, release the spirits by walking the circle counterclockwise, thanking each spirit, and then open the circle.
BEST TIME Whenever you feel ready, pick a special day, such as a Full Moon, seasonal celebrations, or a birthday.
TOOLS Cauldron or fireproof bowl | 1 white candle | Lighter or matches
INGREDIENTS 1 tsp rosemary | 1 tsp vervain | 1 tsp thyme | 5 fresh carnations | 5 bay leaves
Perhaps you need to summon some inner courage to move forward or overcome a hurdle. Perform this spell whenever you wish to bring an essence of strength, confidence, independence, and empowerment into your life.
Center and ground yourself and cast a circle. Cleanse your tools and ingredients. Place your cauldron in the center of your altar and position your candle in the middle. Now sprinkle the rosemary, vervain, and thyme in a circle around the candle, clockwise to draw energy toward you.
Visualize and focus on strength, courage, and empowerment, envisioning what colors they may be. Next, place the carnations around the candle in a wider circle, creating the five points of a pentagram. Place the bay leaves in the gaps between the carnations to complete the pentagram. Now light your candle, and speak the incantation:
I call upon the four elements, I call upon the plant spirits, assist me in this spell, may I create for myself what I desire, may I be courageous, and strong, and empowered. So mote it be.
Sit in meditation until the candle has burned out. As you watch the flame, focus on your intention and envision yourself absorbing strength.
Once finished, open the circle. The leftover herbs and flowers can either be added to an empowerment jar, or buried in your garden or a potted plant.
BEST TIME Full Moon
