TOOLS Tea or coffee | Tarot cards | Your favorite book or music
INGREDIENTS Sun water (see tip)
This ritual sets the tone for a positive day ahead.
When you wake up, take a shower and visualize the water washing away any negative or stagnant energy. Imagine any energies from past days flowing away and being neutralized by Mother Earth. Take your sun water and splash some of it on your face to promote good fortune and a happy day.
Next, drink your coffee or tea by your altar, while pulling a tarot card, reading a book, or listening to uplifting music. Then take 10 minutes to meditate. Meditating is one of the best ways to keep your spiritual wards up and practice energy workings, plus it will help you visualize and manifest.
If you work with deities, spirits, or your ancestors, leave an offering for them on your altar or out in nature, thanking them for this day. Finally, ground and center before starting the rest of your day.
BEST TIME Morning
TOOLS Your favorite tea blend or coffee | Spoon | Mug
Add a layer of depth to your morning herbal tea or coffee through knowledge of your ingredients (see correspondences Elements and cardinal directions, Herbs and plants) and by adding each of them with intention.
Stir clockwise to draw things toward you and to promote good fortune and blessings. Next, stir counterclockwise to banish and remove any unwanted energies. Scoop up any bubbles forming with your spoon and drink them to promote good fortune. To enchant your mug, rub your hands together until warm, then hold them over the mug and say:
May this mug be cleansed and blessed, prepare me for the day, so mote it be.
BEST TIME Every morning
TOOLS Tea light candle | Lighter or matches | Pen | Grimoire or paper
This ritual is ideal for celebrating a Full Moon. It’s also good if you are feeling down and need to lift your mood, increase your gratitude, and cultivate an attitude of contentment.
Start by casting a circle, grounding and centering, and cleansing your altar space and tools. Light your tea light candle and sit in meditation for at least five minutes. Next, write down three things that make you smile each day, followed by three things that make your life better, and lastly three things that you are simply grateful for. If you wish to write more than three things for each, feel free to do so, but try to list at least three—even if they are as simple as wearing warm socks, rewatching your favorite movie, or having a beautiful dream at night. When you have finished writing your lists, say the incantation:
I am filled with gratitude, happiness, and appreciation for all that I have. May I always remember, and may my blessings continue to come to me, so mote it be.
