Tunisian Purl Stitch (Tps): see Basic Stitches

Row 1 (foundation row): Chain required number of stitches. Pick up a loop from back bump in 2nd ch from hook, and in each ch to end, leaving all loops on hook. Return.

Row 2: Starting in 2nd vertical bar, work a Tps (1), work a Tss into next st (2). Continue alternating Tps and Tss up to last st, work end st. Return.

Row 3: This row is worked the same as Row 2 but in the opposite order i.e. you will be working a Tps above the previous Tss and a Tss above the previous Tps.

Starting in 2nd vertical bar, work a Tss, then work a Tps into next st (3). Continue alternating stitches this way up to last st, work end st. Return.

Repeat Rows 2 and 3 to form pattern.

BASKETWEAVE STITCH

• Multiples of 5
• 8 row pattern repeat
• First and last stitches do not form part of pattern and are always worked the same

• Any number of Tss can be worked between bobbles. This swatch sample has 5 Tss between bobbles
• Multiples: dependent on how many sts required between bobbles + 1 st for bobble + 2 (first and last sts) + number of stitches required to balance pattern. Swatch sample is in multiples of 6 + 2 + 1

2-TONE TSS

• The 2-tone effect is created by working the forward pass in one colour then the return pass in a contrast colour

Row 2: Continuing with Colour B, work Tss to last st, work end st. Return, changing back to Colour A on last 2 lps.

Row 3: Continuing with Colour A, Tss 3, work a LTfpdc in next st (1), *Tss 3 (2), work a LTfpdc in next st. Repeat from * to last st, replacing last LTfpdc with an end st. Return, changing back to Colour B on last 2 lps.

SCALLOP LACE
