Pick up a loop from back bump in next ch and place marker in first st. *Continue picking up stitches this way until you have filled about half of your hook, flip hook and begin the return pass for these stitches using Yarn B1. Repeat from * until you reach marker in first st.

NOTE

THE FOLLOWING ROUNDS ARE WORKED IN A SPIRAL. MOVE THE MARKER UP ON THE FIRST STITCH AS YOU WORK EACH ROUND.

B2 is used for the Forward pass and B1 is used for the Return Pass). *Tss in each st until you have enough sts on your hook, flip work and return with Yarn B1 until you have 3 sts on hook. Repeat from * to end.

POUCH CHART

FINISHING

Hand stitch zip into place along top edge of pouch. Don’t worry too much about neatness as your stitches will be covered with the lining on the inside and will disappear amongst the crochet stitches on the outside.

LINING

Cut a rectangle of lining fabric measuring 20 x 25cm (8 x 10in).

Fold fabric in half with right sides together.

Stitch along both sides with a 2cm (34in) seam allowance.

Fold back a 2cm (34in) hem around the top edge.

Place lining inside pouch and hand stitch lining to zipper tape using an invisible stitch (see Techniques).

TASSEL

Decide your main tassel colour and take bands off this skein.

Cut 2 x 90cm (3512in) lengths from the other skein.

Tie the end of one of the lengths of contrast colour around the main colour skein, 5cm (2in) from one end. Wind this colour around the skein for 5cm, working over the tail end as you go. To finish, thread the end onto a tapestry needle and work the needle back down through the wrapped yarn as far as you can go before cutting off as close as possible.

Fold the tassel in half, and using the other length of contrast colour start winding around the base of the wrapped yarn covering the end as you go. Finish off the tail end as you did in the previous step.

Trim the tassel ends evenly.

Open up the jump ring with your fingers and pierce it through the top of the tassel. Attach it to the zipper pull and close the ring.
