chapter 6

Activity:

When you talk to people, such as your parents, friends, teachers, brothers, sisters, classmates, or coaches, do you feel they’re really listening?

Yes. No. Sometimes.

Answer the following questions to discover how you know when people are really listening.

For me, when people are really listening, I can feel that they are being mindful. Their attention is with me, in the here and now. Their eyes are focused on me. Their face is kind, open, and curious. Their body is relaxed and at ease. Their speech and actions are slow and steady.
