Donald A. Filtzer was educated at Wesleyan University and the University of Glasgow. He is presently an Honorary Research Fellow at the Centre for Russian and East European Studies, University of Birmingham. In addition to scholarly articles on Preobrazhensky's thought, Dr. Filtzer has published a translation of Isaac Ilyich Rubin's History of Economic Thought (1978). He is currently engaged in a comparative study of labor unrest and labor policy in Nazi Germany and the USSR during the 1930s.
