DR. RICHARD A. WARSHAK is a clinical and research psychologist and a world-renowned lecturer and authority on divorce, custody, and the psychology of alienated children. He consults with attorneys, mental health professionals, and parents in the United States and abroad. Born in Manhattan, Dr. Warshak grew up in Brooklyn, New York, graduated from Midwood High School at the age of sixteen, and earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell University. Dr. Warshak received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where he is now a clinical professor of psychology and the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award. He sits on the editorial board of three professional journals. Dr. Warshak has consulted at the White House, and courts and legislatures throughout the world cite his studies. Dr. Warshak is the author of more than forty-five academic articles, two books, and an online parent questionnaire used by professionals. His amicus brief on the impact of relocation is credited with influencing a landmark ruling by the California Supreme Court.
