The full-time job of pregnancy
It’s not just a matter of falling pregnant, waiting nine months and then popping that kid out: being pregnant can feel like a full-time job.
You’ll have appointments and check-ups and shopping expeditions and more appointments and hospital tours and cervical cleansing to get done.
(Kidding. Cervical cleansing is not a thing. Actually, it probably is. In fact, now I think of it, there’s probably someone out there making an excellent living out of cleansing cervixes.)
Cervixes aside, you’ll find your nights and weekends will become consumed with ‘prepping for the baby’.
This includes researching baby products like you’re buying a new car. The pram, in particular, will feel like the most significant decision of your life. Do you go prestige or budget? What sort of suspension does it have? Does it have ABS brakes? Can we get that one with the leather trim? Do we go for light and sporty or should we invest in a four-wheel drive?
This is an excellent task to delegate to the unpregnant one in the relationship. A spreadsheet listing the pros and cons of all necessary baby items would be a good start thank you very much, my love.
For something so tiny, this baby is already demanding most of your time. That’s going to become their trademark, by the way. Consider this the trailer for the blockbuster: COMING SOON.
